The tournament will begin with a 10:00 shotgun start on Saturday morning at the Geneganslet Golf Course. For those of you who understand: play will commence on the FRONT 9. (If you don’t understand, don’t worry about it.) Below is a checklist of what needs to be completed BEFORE 10:00 am.

1. You have chosen appropriate golf playing attire. This, at the Genny, means you need to have the majority of your “private parts” covered. (In other words, your shirt doesn’t have to a collar.) **soft spikes** (or sneakers)
2. You have been inside the clubhouse and paid your green fees ($22.00) which includes a cart…well, half a cart. Scooter and Ron will have an area prepared and CLEARLY designated for this purpose.
3. You have your golf clubs and golf balls. Clubs can be rented for $5.00 per set. They have two (2) sets available. Range balls (i.e. “used” balls) can be purchased for $.50 per ball. New balls are also available for purchase. OR you can share with your foursome…a cheap alternative…provided you don’t end up playing with Rockwell or Raymond.
4. You have discovered with whom you will be spending the next four to five hours (in other words…teams will be chosen by pulling names out of a hat) and from which hole your foursome will tee off (i.e. begin to play).
5. You have decided with whom you are going to ride in the cart, and one of you has a key to start the cart. (License to drive a golf cart is not necessary...although highly recommended). You can share driving privileges, if choosing a driver is a bone of contention. There is an unwritten rule that there are only two players per cart. Yes, you can change cart-partners, within your foursome, anytime you wish.
6. You have your club(s) and ball(s) securely fastened to the cart. (This is an important detail!)
7. You have purchased any beverage(s) that you, and/or your team, intend to consume.
8. You have visited the restroom – perhaps the MOST important detail, and definitely probably the last to be completed BEFORE…
9. You and your cart-buddy have driven the cart out to your starting hole.

At 10:00 am a LOUD siren type noise will fill the air…it’s not really a gunshot…and it doesn’t mean there’s a fire at the Clubhouse…it means “let the games begin.” You will then proceed to play THE FRONT nine (9) holes, in a clockwise pattern/order, maintaining a minimum of decorum.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY GOLF IN ORDER TO PARTICPATE!!!! SPOUSES/SIGNIFICANT OTHERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO JOIN THE FUN!!!
